Back to SRQ with Brett and Mike to Sarasota Avionics, VFR to pick up Andre - left SRQ at 7:30pm and had to avoid T-storms around Tampa - Found hole near Hernando Co - Alternator failure occured with smell in cockpit - divert to GNV with night landing, no emergency declared - SC could not get new alt the next day, so Alt was re-installed without connections and battery charged - Flew back to CHS VFR without Battery on - Navigation via Dead Reckoning - Uneventful flight back to CHS - IFR hood time on way to SRQ, Safety Pilot, Mike Gibbins
VFR with JK and the boys for Nana and Pop-up drop-off - Pick up Joe in Danbury next day and flew to Bader field - Stayed at Tropicana for one night, won $125 on baccarat - JK flew back from Bader to LRO - JK safety pilot for IFR work
VFR to AIY, Bader field, Tropicana - then to HPN on the 18th to pick up Boys in Darien - Nice VFR day but with headwind - Practice ILS into HPN rwy34 - Joe Kramer, Safety Pilot
VRF back to Charleston - Through Hudson Corridor and then up to 6500 for crusie, nice tailwood to LRO - Navigation under the hood with Joe Kramer, Safety Pilot
VFR to Sarasota at night with Andre to check on servers - Short flight with Hassan and Andre Touch and go in Venice - To St. Augustine and stopped at Southeast Aero to check on Avionics fan, $1160 and paint work - Back to LRO - all spot landings - Two practice ILS approches
VFR with JK, AR, and RA to ACY for B-day's and gambling - flaps failed to extend on final, go around on Rwy 13 to troubleshoot problem, unable to fix and landed without flaps, perfect touchdown - Flap accuator bolt bent and snapped - New part was ordered and installed on Monday
MVFR leaving ACY with JK back to LRO - Stayed @1500AGL until ORK where ceiling increased to 10k+, cruise back to LRO @8500 - Spot laning at LRO - GPS approach under hood to LRO, Joe Kramer Safety Pilot
VFR to meet Sporto in Orlando - Played golf and met Frits Vromen, Japenese eat @ Ringitzu - Pivk up Andre at SRQ on the 5th, brought Sporto back to ISM - back to LRO on 5th
VFR flight to Southeast Aero to have Avionics Fan installed, Paint touch-up, & brakes etc... - Stayed at Casa Del Mar in St Augustine - Flew back on the 13th to LRO, Low ceilings made VFR a bit challenging, encountered inadverrtent IMC for 3 minutes before getting out - All avionics functioned perfectly
VFR flights to Beufort on Wed, Thur 21st, & fri 22nd of this week for IFR training with Doug Carmody - Picked up Doug on Friday to complete 250 mile IFR x-c with Doug - Didnt fly on the 19th to 73J due to IFR weather, drove instead

IFR checkride with Carol Joye after flying to Beaufort 1st - Simulator checkout at 73J first, then to OGB via GPS appr 35 - VFR back to LOR after getting certificate - PASSED CHECKRIDE, NOW IFR YIPPEE!
VFR to CHS for Oil Change 386? hours on plane - Dana, JR, and Missy met me at CHS to depart IFR to Atlantis - 1st IFR flight with minimal actual - IFR to MYNN on rwy 14 - Quite cloudy throughout the Bahama islands, but nice views
IFR flights from MYNN to FPR and CHS - Clearence at MYNN was interesting due to Bahama routes - Customs @FPR was very easy - IFR back to CHS to drop off Dana - then to LRO with JR and Missy - left MYNN at 1:30 arrived at LRO at 6pm
IFR from GSO to LRO - Drop off Ray and Jessica - Departed rwy 5 at GSO and encountered some shear when turning out on climb-out with strong reduction in speed (70kts) - Lots of IMC - 30 knot tailwind on way back - Brad heard me on Fayetville Freq and we went to CTAF to talk, He made it to LRO a few minutes before me- GPS appr to Rwy 17 circle to land on 35 - Gusty landing at night was interesting with balloning on landing - very light, little fuel and 1 person
IFR flight with Corie from Rays office and boyfriend to Peachtree City - Crusie@ 6000 feet, some vector- 50 knot headwinds made GS pathetic on way out, but 225kts GS on way back - 1hr 5 min return flight - #5 CHT probe is inoperable
IFR flight to Westchester with Dana, Carly and Andrew - Perfect VFR weather all the way to HPN except for gusty and windshear conditions during night landing - Headwinds all the way up, 3:55 mins - IFR vectors to the west of the city - Visual approcah to runway 14? at HPN - Spot landing at HPN
IFR flight back to LRO during low pressure system covering entire eastern seaboard - Flight was actually quite smooth with some light chop and much IMC - Dana did well and the babies too - Visual approach to rwy 17 at LRO - No SID's were listed in the 430's - 40 knot headwind all the way - Used 62 gallons
VFR to bring plane back to hangar from SC - New CHT probe installed, OAT SB grounding installed, TKS fluid and Oil purchased - 1 additional takeoff and landing at LRO for practive x-wind
3 IFR flights - Drop off Tara at MYR, then proceed to Dulles to get Hampton +2 etc... - visula approach landing on rwy 1R at Dulles, tracking Localizer, Baron 1 arrival at Dulles - perfect VFR conditions, but practice needed on flying localizer approaches - 8000 and 6000 alt on way back to LRO
IFR flights to Clemson and back to East Cooper with JK, AR, and Laura? - Perfect weather conditions with no actual - spot landings - GPS rwy 17 approach to LRO with circle to land on 35 - Clemson lost to Maryland 13-12 - flew over stadium after game
VFR to Interstate for Maint., check compressions, all good - back to LRO on the 9th with Andre and two touch and go's at JZI rwy 4 then back to LRO - picked up 932CD to bring to Inter for Oil change
IFR to RDU for Hurricane game vs. Penguins with Steve Zim, Trent, and Pete - VFR conditions and nice tailwind up to RDU - landed on 23L - Simualted ILS into RDU, no glideslope on either GPS/PFD - GPS17 approach into LRO at night on way back - Gusty wind, no issue
IFR flight in VFR conditions to Southeast Aero to get skywatch swap - Took Mom alond and we walk through town for a few hours - Skywatch was done in a couple of hours, billed plus shipping charges - Plane is running great
IFR flight in VFR conditions to Clemson for ballgame with Gamecocks - Vectors all over for traffic going into Clemson - Took Gary and Mike Huber early Saturday morning, came back in the evening - Clemson lost 31-28 on missed field goal, packed stadium and great weather, 70 degrees - Mike did some SIC flying on the way home - Gary and Mike enjoyed the whoel day
IFR flight in VFR condition back to East Cooper with Dana - Low flight over Duchy Airpark and Chapel Hill neighborhoods before leaving area - CHT#2 hot and EGT probe #6 erratic - AP also didnt capture altitudes on pre-select climbs and decents - Nice flight home
IFR in IFR conditions to VRB with Dana, AK, and CK - Surprise visit to see Pat, Jimmy and other Slimak gang - Soft IFR on way to VRB with light chop and heavy headwind - VOR 11R apr into VRB with 1500 foot ceilings - Left to go home with a WX front moving across Florida and Southeast - ATC in JAX was very helful in making decision as XM weather was not as accurate and seemed to lag - Heavy line block us near CRG and divered to SGJ and at dinner at Airport Restaurant before leaving taking off again around 10pm. - Most WX pushed off the coast and we left SGJ - Visual approached into SGJ and LRO at night
