Break in flight of IUK. Leg 2 of three. Leg 1 with Bob F to Port Hardy in just under 2 hours I flew to Powell River with 25 minutes of night then back to YXX with Stephen H. Saw lightning over Olympic Peninsula... great flight. Grounded 130 over much of the trip. Love the GTN 750!
IUK back to Pitt to pick up my car at Maxcraft. 01:30. Cranbrook Radio out and Pitt Traffic back in. Did one practise approach to test VOR... works great
Return with Stephen H. to YXX. Did a touch and go... windy at altitude (> 800) but OK on short final. New Strobes on approach to 19. no more lead-in lights.
Night flight to circle downtown Vancouver. Talked to Terminal then was handed to van twr eventually going onto Harbour Traffic.4 right orbits then home normally
Original destination was Copalis. Weather looked good but Diverted to Hoquiam due to rain and low cloud. Flight to Tacoma Narrows had rain and reduced vis for much of the first half of flight. no more than 2-3 miles vis.Could not call CANPASS for 2 hr clearance. No WIFI either
Tacoma Narrows. Needed 2 hours for CANPASS clearance. Dirk filed eAPIS for home (need wifi and one hour). Stop in bellingham for an hour for 2 hour CANPASS arrival time
