Breakdast flight with Mark T and Devin Campbell. Out on 07 and first landing on 21 in Victoria. Breakfast at the spitfire and permitted parking in the area to the NE of the restaurant.
Harbour tour with Ron Becker. Two orbits to the right and they were busy. One orbit at second narrows before the initial call to tower. Keep it in tight over the city.
Return to Abbotsford via Sumas for some more intro and turns with three touch and go landings. Lost flaps on last one and did it with 0 flaps no problem.
Kids flight with Christy. First a loop around downtown Vancouver then a flight to see the volcano that is mt. Baker. Hazy day due to wildfire smoke but good view at Baker. Nice descent into Abbotsford.
Flight to Courtenay with Paul M. Unable to get VAN TML due to restrictions so at 2500 north shore Pitt harbour Gower up to other side of Sechelt then got 4500 from Comox TML across to Qualicum where we had to orbit due to Snowbirds practice (over Smit field then over Courtenay at 800 where on bast to final overs how the final and looped around to try again. Quite windy with a >10 kt wind down 13. Had lunch
Return. Super windy again but down the climb to 5500 and talk to Comox TML VIC TML then VAN TML and continue 5500 though Lions Gate then direct Abbotsford which was cool. Smooth at altitude but bumpy below 3000 wind on 19 was 190@15 but decent approach just a short landing and long taxi to Bravo. Great flight!
Chilliwack out to Harrison lake for the sunset then back after end of civil twilight at 17:11 for stop and goes on 01 right and left (3 each) then transition to. 07 right and left (2 each) resulting in a full stop on 07
Checkride during COVID with Chinook and Bob Fatkin. Asked for the 172S with the G1000 first flight. Normal takeoff slow flight power off and power on stalls thee spiral dives (first one demonstrated) then three circuits in Chilliwack and then under the hood to track to whatcom VOR @2500' and then vectors to land ILS 07.
